The Fire, the Rain and the Wind – Pentecost 2014

1 Kings 18: 36-45
36 At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: “Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. 37 Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.”

38 Then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench.

39 When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, “The Lord—he is God! The Lord—he is God!” 40 Then Elijah commanded them, “Seize the prophets of Baal. Don’t let anyone get away!” They seized them, and Elijah had them brought down to the Kishon Valley and slaughtered there.

41 And Elijah said to Ahab, “Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain.” 42 So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees.

43 “Go and look toward the sea,” he told his servant. And he went up and looked.“There is nothing there,” he said. Seven times Elijah said, “Go back.”

44 The seventh time the servant reported, “A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.”
So Elijah said, “Go and tell Ahab, ‘Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.’”

45 Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain started falling and Ahab rode off to Jezreel. 46 The power of the Lord came on Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.

Prayer: Father thank you for this new day, and we give you praise as we celebrate the anniversary of the day that your Holy Spirit filled those assembled in the upper room. Thank you for another opportunity to reflect inwardly and to see if there is anything in us that is contrary to your divine will. We thank you for the fire that burns up everything in our lives that is not like you. We thank you for the cleansing rain which washes away all of the debris. And we thank you for the mighty wind which comes to reestablish your divine alignment and order. Father, you are welcome on this day to come into our lives and do an inside work that we may also be changed from head to toe. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

JESUS (No Longer a Babe in a Manger)

Merry Christmas Blessings to each of you. In honor of our beautiful guest of honor, I would like to share a poem I wrote after Christmas 2004. Blessings & love, enjoy.

JESUS (No Longer a Babe in a Manger)

Jesus my strength, my strongtower, my intercessor and my King.
You're my peace, my joy and most definitely my everything.

Jesus the sweet lamb of God
Lion of the tribe of Judah.
You're seated at the right hand of the Father God
where no one else can move You.

Jesus no longer a babe in a manger
wrapped in swaddlin ' clothes.
You're the Prince of Peace and the Lord of Lords
who came to save lost souls.

Jesus no longer a babe in a manger,
who was at the beginning before it was ever begun.
You were born to die upon a ruggard cross,
so through salvation we could become one.

Spiritual Eclispe-2013

Habakkuk 2:14
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea. “  NIV

Isaiah 60:2
See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you.” NIV

Upon rising Saturday morning, I noticed that the unbalance that I felt in the realm of the spirit the previous day had indeed passed away. There was such a sweet presence, such a stillness that it could not be denied. The atmosphere had shifted and it was going to be an awesome, awesome day.  As I waited for the Father to speak, I got up from my bed and then went into my quiet place.

Moments later I heard the voice of the Father say that a “Spiritual Eclipse” had occurred in the wee morning hours, right before He had awakened me from my sleep the first time. As I began to ponder on what I heard, instantly a vision of what occurred was before my eyes.
In the vision, I saw the earth surrounded by complete darkness. Moments later, the light of the Father’s presence began to shine forth and fill the darkness with iridescent colors.  As the presence of the Father covered and then surrounded the earth, I heard “My grace is covering the earth and protecting it from the enemy.”  Once these words were spoken the vision was gone and I began to pray as I walked into my office to look up the full meaning of the word eclipse.

“An eclipse is an astronomical event that occurs when an astronomical object is temporarily obscured, either by passing into the shadow of another body or by having another body pass between it and the viewer. An eclipse is a type of syzygy.[1]

The term eclipse is most often used to describe either a solar eclipse, when the Moon's shadow crosses the Earth's surface, or a lunar eclipse, when the Moon moves into the Earth's shadow. However, it can also refer to such events beyond the Earth-Moon system: for example, a planet moving into the shadow cast by one of its moons, a moon passing into the shadow cast by its host planet, or a moon passing into the shadow of another moon. A binary star system can also produce eclipses if the plane of the orbit of its constituent stars intersects the observer's position.”

Without going deeper into all of the technical things surrounding the different types of eclipses, the wisdom Father released pertains only to the spiritual eclipse that has now occurred and the fact that His glory has increased and is now covering the earth to bring all things back into alignment with Him.

Prayer

Father thank you for the grace that you have extended to us. Father we thank you for the opportunity to humble ourselves and repent for all things that have not pleased you. Thank you for life. Thank you for your strength. Thank you for your mercy which we do not deserve.  Father thank you for your grace extended to us ever so sweetly.  Show us the way; lead us on the path to true holiness. Lead and guide us into all truth, your truth. Order our steps like never before. Open our eyes to see past the destruction. Open our eyes to see past our flesh. Open our eyes to gaze upon your glory.  We need you more than we have acknowledged. We need your touch and we need your love. We need you more than anything in this earth, in Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Blessings and Love,

New, New, New!

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19

As I sit here at my desk closing out old writing projects from seasons past, I know in my spirit that God is ready to bring forth something new into my life. As in previous years, whenever I am led to closeout writing projects or to clean and organize my desk files or boxes that the old must go in order for the new to come forth.

The seventh month of 2011 is officially coming to a close in less than 18 hours and already my mind has become focused on the second half of this year. There is a mighty huge harvest coming not only for my own household but also for those within the household of faith.

In this last season of “just enough” I have been a good steward over the monies earned through my job, as well as tithing and sowing seed off of every book sale made. But despite having just enough to do the necessary minimal, God has yet to continue to provide and to meet every basic need of my household.

As this fresh new season begins to spring forth, bringing with it all that God has purposed, my spirit begins to leap for joy because the old is now past and has been dealt with in so many ways, from physically to emotionally. The time has now come for me to open my arms wide to embrace and receive all of the new that has come. May you also embrace the new, new, new that God is making available for you too.

In closing, I would like to share with you a poem I wrote in the spring of 2000 upon waking up on the morning of a brand new season for my life.  The poem is entitled, It’s Morning.”

Enjoy, Blessings!

It’s Morning

It’s Morning! It’s Morning! Oh the new mercies I see.
It’s Morning! It’s Morning! A brand new day for me.
It’s Morning! It’s Morning! Oh how bright the sun does shine.
It’s Morning! It’s Morning! I have a renewed peace of mind.
It’s Morning! It’s Morning! I will praise the Lord.
It’s Morning! It’s Morning! In Him I adore.
It’s Morning! It’s Morning! He has set me free.
It’s Morning! It’s Morning! From the hand of the enemy.
It’s Morning! It’s Morning!
