Reject the Spirit of Fear

Job 3:25 (NIV)

25 “For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me and what I dreaded has happened to me. 26 I am not at ease, nor am I quiet; I have no rest, for trouble comes.”

1 John 4:18 (NIV)

18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”

Job was a man who walked upright before God. So when trouble visited his home, he immediately went into a time of fasting and consecration before God.  What he did not know was the conversation that God had in Heaven concerning His character and His love and heart for Him. In the referenced scripture Job recounted to his friends how the very things that he feared the most had now come to past in his life.

Today, I have been commanded to share with you that as a child of God it is now time to reject the spirit of fear completely. Don’t allow fear on any level to dictate your day. It has no place, and it has no power over what God has already promised you He will do in your life.

Prophetic Utterance:

"Reject the spirit of fear today, and allow for your mind to be at rest. The perfect love of God on the inside of you will keep you grounded in the abundance of His grace." 2-11-2014 @ 3:07 PM

Prayer:

Father, we come into your presence lifting you up and honoring you as the Sovereign God that you are. Today, we reject, we renounce and we no longer allow for the spirit of fear to operate in any area of  our lives. In exchange, we accept , we receive and we embrace your pure love  along with a sound mind.  No more doubt or disbelief, for we now walk in our divine release.  In Jesus name, amen.

The Father's Plumbline Is Irrevocable

Irrevocable

Not capable of being changed.  Impossible to revoke

Plumb line

A cord weighted with lead that is used in building to check that vertical structures are true. It is used symbolically to refer to the divine standard against which God, the builder of his people, tests and judges them. It also symbolizes the standards by which God will rebuild his people.

Scriptural References

Amos 7 (NIV)
This is what he showed me: The Lord was standing by a wall that had been built true to plumb, with a plumb line in his hand. And the Lord asked me, “What do you see, Amos?”
“A plumb line,” I replied.
Then the Lord said, “Look, I am setting a plumb line among my people Israel; I will spare them no longer.
“The high places of Isaac will be destroyed and the sanctuaries of Israel will be ruined;
with my sword I will rise against the house of Jeroboam.”

2 Chronicles 7:11-22 (NIV)
11 When Solomon had finished the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, and had succeeded in carrying out all he had in mind to do in the temple of the Lord and in his own palace, 12 the Lord appeared to him at night and said:
“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.
13 “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. 16 I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.
17 “As for you, if you walk before me faithfully as David your father did, and do all I command, and observe my decrees and laws, 18 I will establish your royal throne, as I covenanted with David your father when I said, ‘You shall never fail to have a successor to rule over Israel.’
19 “But if you turn away and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them, 20 then I will uproot Israel from my land, which I have given them, and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. I will make it a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples. 21 This temple will become a heap of rubble. All who pass by will be appalled and say, ‘Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and to this temple?’ 22 People will answer, ‘Because they have forsaken the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them—that is why he brought all this disaster on them.’”

Invitation to the Thirsty

Isaiah 55: 6-9 (NIV)
6 “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,”declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Wisdom Nugget for those called to write in the Christian book genre

For those called to write in the Christian book genre know that you are called to meet a need that Father God want to address. Please do not attempt to write a book on the assumption of how much money you think you will make from your book project. Understand that your key assignment is about meeting a divine need in the natural, even if it is for just one person. Please don’t lose focus or you will lose your way. Obey to the letter your personal instructions. In all sincerity, this is the real success you will want to achieve, and that is adhering in total obedience to the promptings of the Father.

House Cleaning Time

2 Chronicles 29: 15-16 “When they had assembled their fellow Levites and consecrated themselves, they went in to purify the temple of the Lord, as the king had ordered, following the word of the Lord. The priests went into the sanctuary of the Lord to purify it. They brought out to the courtyard of the Lord’s temple everything unclean that they found in the temple of the Lord. The Levites took it and carried it out to the Kidron Valley.”

Psalm 51:1 “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.”

Ezekiel 36:25-27 “Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

2 Corinthians 7:1 “Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.”

James 4:8 “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

Scriptural References taken from www.biblegateway.com

I was awakened at 3:30 AM this morning and immediately began to pray in the spirit. This was not an odd occurrence because for the last couple of years until the recent changing of the guard I had been assigned to the fourth watch of the night.

As I bowed from the weight and sorrow of what was being released during this time, a clear vision began to materialize. Father began revealing in greater clarity what some already know has begun to take place within the lives of His children.  Father used one of my childhood homes in Wisconsin as an analogy. In the vision, I was shown how on Saturday mornings, my mother would gather her six children and everyone had to help clean our home from top to bottom including the basement and backyard.

Everyone had their own assignments and knew what they were to clean before we started. My daddy took the clothes to the Laundromat during the times we did not have an in home washer or dryer.  The two eldest boys had their room, the backyard and the basement. I had the kitchen, living room and entryway. My younger sister had the only bathroom and our shared bedroom. My two youngest brothers had their shared room and the family den upstairs. Everyone was expected to do a through cleaning, so we could get to what we enjoyed as a family and that was sitting down to the weekly Saturday movie matinee and some of mama’s freshly stove popped pop corn and a tumbler of Kool-Aid.

Because we did this type of cleaning once a week, it was not such a difficult task. But on occasion while cleaning depending on the season we were in we will find bugs, and other undesirables who decided to find their final resting place in or around our home. Because this was our home and what we considered a place of safety, it was our job to get rid of and dispose of those things found that did not belong. Once we finished and everything was cleaned and put away, mama would do a walk through to make sure that what we said lined up with what we were assigned to do. In the end we always knew everything went well with her inspection because she would then go into the kitchen and pull out the oil and popcorn to make huge bowls of popcorn for everyone. (End of vision)

Now that we’ve entered a brand new season, Father is yet continuing as before periodic house cleaning inspections for His children. It is our responsibility both individually and corporately to adhere to this necessary house cleaning. Not only is this of great importance but it is imperative that we embrace this process in an effort to stay in sync and in tune with the flow of the Father’s spirit.  Just as with any manufacturer, Father desires that those whom He created with His very own hands are operating and functioning in the manner for which they have been uniquely designed.

If you are not sure of where to begin or how to start, pray and ask Holy Spirit to show you the rooms in your home or areas around your property that may need some special attention. This time clean house as if your destiny depended on it, for truly my dear brothers and sisters, a time for major house cleaning is upon us.

The Prophets for this Season

On last evening, the prophets of God being raised up for this season were upon my heart. As I began to pray, I thanked God for those who are coming out of the dark caves of last season with a ready word upon their tongues. I give Father praise not just for the created but because God is such an awesome and strategic Father. He knows, He sees and He hears all things, Hallelujah, glory to God!

Prayer

Father as your ordained mouth pieces arise in this season, I pray a protective covering over each and every life. I thank you for your divine covering over all that pertains to each and every vessel. I thank you Father for yielded tongues, vocal cords, larynx, phonation, thyroid and instrinsic muscles moving and operating according to your divine will and purpose. I thank you Father for your committed vessels walking in divine alignment speaking, scribing and releasing exactly what you have given them to say. I thank you that there will be no compromise or backing down on any assignment. I give you glory Father that all shall walk in Holy boldness as your commissioned vessels. I thank you for the angels that are assigned to each vessel and that each one would consistently use the word so that their angels will be able to excel in strength to protect and guide them. Thank you oh mighty God for what you are doing in this season. Thank you for your plans and purpose being revealed in a glorious and mighty way in the earth. In Jesus Name, Amen!

Scriptural Encouragement  from Jeremiah 1:7-12

But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord. Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “I have put my words in your mouth. See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.” The word of the Lord came to me: “What do you see, Jeremiah?” “I see the branch of an almond tree,” I replied. The Lord said to me, “You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.”

How deeply do you need the Father?

Some have been using God as a temporary fix the way some use Anbesol for a toothache. The medication soothes the pain temporarily, but it’s a visit to the dentist or the oral surgeon that is truly needed.

Father God is not a surface God; but He is the Sovereign, Holy Father who desires for you to know Him in a deeper way.

So how deeply do you need Him? How bad do you want to know the Father?

Do you only want to use the Sovereign Father on a temporary basis for the times when you have a toothache or do you want to know Him for the rest of your life? The choice is yours.

Father God is jealous for you

Exodus 20:5
"You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me."

Do you remember back when you attended grade school and the little boys picked who their special girl would be at the beginning of the school year? Sometimes, they picked a precious little girl who they never really got a chance to connect with, maybe because of fear, competition, etc. But even if the competition for the little girl's heart was great, there would always be one little boy who would act out in a fit of jealousy causing a stir throughout the whole grade school.

With Father God, He chooses to do things quite differently. Before you were born and fashioned in your mother's womb, God's desire was to keep you as His very own. As a Father who cares, He knows that sometimes you can lose focus and allow the cares of this world to redirect your affection. As a God who is jealous for you, He would be right in what He does if He shook things up, but because He's also a loving God, He extends His hands to beckon you to draw near. As one of His very own, His heart's desire is to see you not run away in fear, but to come lay your head upon His chest to hear how deep His heart beats for you.

See, look God! No hands!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

Have you ever been gently warned by God, not to have any input in the spiritual matters concerning someone you know may be facing? For me personally, I always hear the Lord say, "don't put your hands on nothing!" In other words, it means for me take my hands from off the pot handles, because God, the Master Chef is the one preparing what's cooking in the kitchen.

Today, if you are experiencing a "no hands" situation, can you honestly say that you have truly adhered to what the Father has spoken? Have you been able to resist the urge to intervene, comment, or seek to rescue the person, family member, or friend who God has left to their own devices? From a personal standpoint, it's best not to test those waters, especially if Father has said to "take your hands off completely." Because when you really think about it, if you do intervene, you are saying that what you have to offer the person is more powerful and effective than what God can give. It also means that you are denying the Father an opportunity to be the Holy & Sovereign God that He needs to be in the person's life.

When we seek to rescue people without seeking God's divine strategy on what His plans are, we unknowingly become the savior in that person's life. Our goal is to never try to replace what God has already made available when He sacrificed His only Son on the cross. Jesus, is the only Savior of the world, so placing ourselves where He belongs is not only unhealthy, but is not of benefit to us or the person we are seeking to help.

So what do you do to keep your hands free from interfering?

1. Cut your own enabler strings, so you won't be tempted to put your hands on the pot.

2. Redirect and focus your attention on what God has called for you to do in this season. This should be enough to keep you busy.

3. Pray and intercede for the person as directed by the Holy Spirit.

4. If they continually seek you out for help, teach them how to connect to God in prayer.

5. Stay sensitive to the winds of change. If and when God requests your assistance, be prepared to follow through with His instructions.

6. Lastly, trust that Father God has full control, because He really does.

Time to move from the Trial Size to the Full Size

This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

On Monday June 12, 2012, Father released a word to me concerning many in the body who were still operating in the trial sized versions of the spiritual mantles He had placed upon their lives. He spoke how the time has now come for His people to operate in the full power of the mantle for the level where they are currently assigned. Unable to release what I heard on that evening until late today, Father is yet continuing to align His precious vessels in this season and we must obediently adhere to His instructions.

So, how many of you have ever received the trial sized version of products in the mail? After using maybe three or four good squirts of the product which you have now come to enjoy, you find that the tube is empty and you have to throw the container away. Many people, me included tend to steer clear of the trial sized version except for use when going out of town or on vacation. It is for these times that a trial sized version is all that is really needed anyway. Additionally, these trial sizes are not a big loss just in case you accidentally leave them behind in your hotel room because they can be readily replaced.

How does this tie in with what Father is releasing? Glad you asked. Often times when God has placed His gifts in His people many who are new to the use and operation of the gifts may put out a squirt here and there and this is totally normal and acceptable for someone who is not familiar and has not been taught or trained yet in the things of the Lord. The word spoken to me on that night is actually for those within the Body, who have been taught, trained or mentored and have not allowed for God to freely move through their vessels as instructed. I’m in total agreement with what I heard because I have been in that very same place many, many times before. There were times when I would draw back in fear and revert to operating in the trial sized version of the mantle placed upon my life for whatever reason. But because of God’s grace and mercy and of course after repeated correction, I know now to just let God be; God.  Because when all is said and done it’s His power that He desires to work in and through us for His glory, Amen?

At this moment I would like to speak specifically to those whose hearts have been touched by this message of love. My prayer for you is that you would take some time to reflect and assess to see if you have indeed fully given the Father free access to flow through your vessel. There are too many people who are awaiting salvation in the world and for some it will take more than just a squirt or two from a trial sized version of the mantle upon your lives. Many others have been loudly crying out to God for healing, freedom and deliverance and they will need the real deal, the full sized version of God’s power working in and through you. May you be encouraged to know that God does desire to work in and through you in an awesome and powerful way no matter where and what He has called and purposed you to do for Him. Now is the acceptable time to allow for your faith and trust in the Father to soar high as you yield yourself to see Him get all the glory from your life.

Stopping the flow of Emotional Bleeding

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthian 1:3-4

Before I could even get into worship and prayer this morning Father released a word concerning His people that it is now time to stop the flow of emotional bleeding. As I began to pray, He expressed that there are still too many wounded soldiers who are out on the battlefield leaking contaminated blood throughout the body. There are also many who have been wounded but are still operating in ministry with open wounds which have not had the opportunity and time to properly heal. Still there are many others who are yet going forth in ministry with the objects and instruments used against them in battle left hanging from their bodies. Now is the time and today is the day to step away from the battlefield to get the open wounds cleansed, tended to and bandaged properly. For those of you who happen to be one of the recently wounded, know that this is a word of love and compassion because our Heavenly Father has expressed deep concern for the total health and well being of His wounded sheep on today.

On last month I was instructed to write about emotional healing and how we as the Body of Christ should take precautions to check and work on maintaining our mental health and well being. Periodically checking to be sure that our emotions are in check and not spilling all over the place will allow for us to go further in doing the work of building up the kingdom of God. For the times when we continued in our assignments without taking the time to assess our wounds, we risked the possibility of setting up infection in our bodies as well as unknowingly infecting others. Today, if you are open to hear the Father’s heart on this matter you can begin your healing right away.

So how can we stop the flow of emotional bleeding in our lives?

1.                  When we know that we have been wounded, stop and assess the damage.
2.                  We have to be honest with ourselves that there is some bleeding.
3.                  Take time out to get proper care for the wound(s) by seeking the services of a trusted friend, counselor, mental health professional or pastor.
4.                  Allow time for God’s healing to flow. Release all guilt about taking time away so that the healing process is not hindered.
5.                  Continue to spend time communing with the Father in worship and prayer.
6.                  Spend time in the word of God to regain strength for the next assignment.
7.                  Keep our hearts and minds free from any debris or residue from prior battles.
8.                  Reach out to help our wounded brother and sisters who don’t know that they are bleeding.

Father, thank you for your concern and love for your people on today. Thank you for revealing your heart  concerning an issue that many of us may not have been aware of.  Thank you for providing your wisdom and a way of escape so we may be healed. Thank you for covering our wounds with your healing salve. Thank you Father for your love covering us as a blanket where we are safe from harm and danger. Thank you for allowing us to dwell in your secret place where we can rest under the shadow of your wings. We ask that you forgive us for infecting others unknowingly and we ask that you would send forth your healing into their lives as well.  Thank you Father for you see and you know all things and nothing is hidden from your watchful eyes. Truly you are an incredible and awesome Father who is always concerned about the health and wellbeing of your children.  We love you Dear God for all you have done for us, in the name of Jesus we pray on this day, Amen.

Mental Health Awareness Month

As the month of May comes to close, I would like to take some time to discuss your mental health status. Every year during the month of May counselors and professionals in the Mental Health community work to bring awareness to people about the importance of mental health care and the benefits of getting the proper treatment. Whether you suffered a loss materially, spiritually or physically, there’s no better time than the present to check to see that you are operating in emotional wholeness.

Just as you take time out to go for your yearly doctor and dental visits; it’s also extremely important to stay up to date on your current mental health status. The type of assistance you chose will be based upon the type of care you are seeking whether it is short or long termed. For instance if you are in need of counseling after the loss of a job or loved one, seeking out the services of a grief counselor would be of great benefit to you. If you find yourself dealing with the after effects and issues associated with substance, sexual or physical abuse, in order to achieve the optimal results it would be beneficial to seek out someone who specializes in this specific type of counseling.  Since the general area of counseling covers such a large base, choosing the right specialized help or counselor to meet your needs will take some research on your part as well as prayer.

In the faith based community finding a counselor is normally just a phone call away when you call your local church. There you will find and receive assistance from lay Pastoral counselors and staff who have experience with dealing with all types of issues on a daily basis. In many of these churches you may also find on staff Professional, Licensed and or certified counselors who are on hand to service the needs of the congregants and the general community.

So what do you need to know before going to see a counselor or mental health professional and what are some of signs you can look for?  Below are listed just a few signs which will help to give you some clarity.

v     You recently suffered a major loss or death of a cherished loved one.
v     You find yourself constantly complaining or bickering with people around you or with loved ones.
v     You become irritated with issues that normally did not bother you in the past.
v     You have frequent and unexplainable bouts of crying.
v     You have frequent and unexplainable headaches/and or migraines
v     You are experiencing stress or suffering bouts of anxiety.
v     You are experiencing bouts of sadness or seem to be unhappy most of the time.
v     You began disconnecting yourself from social activities and spending more time sleeping.
v     You suffer from frequent bouts of anger or frustration.
v     You have experienced thoughts of suicide or thoughts about physically harming yourself.
v     You have recently experienced loss of sleep, extended bouts of fatigue or tiredness.
v     You have suffered from loss of appetite and or unexplained weight loss.

Although this list is not conclusive, knowing some of the above signs will help you to take a moment to honestly assess you mental health status to see if you do need to begin the process of seeking out immediate counseling/and or a mental health professional for treatment.  In this life we all have experienced struggles and faced uncertainty, but know that you don’t have to suffer in silence or alone. The Sovereign Father has birthed forth and anointed godly counselors for use within the Body of Christ. Many of these counselors have taken the necessary steps to become professionally trained to assist you along the path of your life’s journey. Click on the information links below to see that there is help, there is hope and there is a solution readily available to assist you with what you may be facing in your life today.

Untie Them: The Lord has need of them

As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples, saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.’”

They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway. As they untied it, some people standing there asked, “What are you doing, untying that colt?” They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go. When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it. Mark 11:1-7

While listening to the book of Mark, Father revealed something which happens within the Body of Christ more often than we talk about or even realize. There are many of the Lord’s anointed who have not been able to operate and fully flow in the things of God because of mental, physical and spiritual ties which have been placed upon them by others.

In the above scripture passage the two disciples were given the directive to first untie, then loose and finally to bring the colt back to Jesus. In the event someone asked what they were doing, they were to simply reply; “The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.” The question that I am directed to pose to you on today is, How many times have you stood in the way of those whom the Lord had called aside for His use?  The colt which was needed was actually going to be returned to its place of origination, but only after Jesus was able to sit upon him.  Jesus knew in advance that there would be some people in close proximity to the colt that would be unaware of his true purpose so He had to prepare the disciples with  a response to use as they needed.

How many of you know that when we seek to humble ourselves and then untie and loose our brothers and sisters to the Lord, that the anointing placed upon their very lives by the Holy Spirit will someday come back to bless us?  By allowing others to be free in Jesus we are loosing them from our own personal expectations of who we think they are.

The colt up until the time he was used by the Lord, had not done much other than stand outside tied to a post. Now pause for a moment and ask yourself how many people connected to you have been left hanging in limbo because you still have them standing outside tied up to a mental, physical or spiritual post?  Thanks be unto God for His longsuffering towards us because He is now extending His mercy and grace by giving us and those held hostage by our thoughts a way of escape.

Know that in this you are not alone because as the first partaker of this revelation, I had to immediately reflect to see if there was anyone whom I had been holding back from the Lord’s use. And when the Holy Spirit brought several faces to mind; I quickly repented, prayed and then released each individual into the Lord’s care so they could fully be used for God’s glory and honor. Now that you have taken the time to read this word, I pray that your heart has been receptive to hearing the Father’s heart on this issue within the Body of Christ. My prayer for you is that you continue to hear the Father’s voice and obey Him by releasing anyone including those who are  family or friends into His total and complete care.  May you also be strengthened and restored in the Lord as you go through this  release process.

The Fear of the Lord: Honoring God His Way

I would like to share with you something the Lord helped to make clear with His wisdom on this past weekend during a time of ministry. While discussing the topic “The Fear of the LORD” from the book by John Bevere, Father revealed how sometimes we treat the presence of others with more respect and honor then we do with His holy presence.  Following is the example He allowed for me to use as an illustration. While working in the marketplace a few years ago, the Director of the department I worked for came to the floor looking for one of the managers one day.  As the Director walked from one end of the floor to the other; you could hear one surprised response after the other. Oh hi, how are you? Great, it’s good to see you! What brings you up here? Etc. etcetera. Additionally, you would began to hear the sudden and quick typing of fingers upon keyboards along with papers being shuffled upon desks as she walked by each section.  I would sit at my desk still working and smh at the sudden activity of productivity because the big boss was on the floor.

Interesting to note after many of these surprise visits, one or more of the employees would come to my desk which actually happened to be the first desk after the entrance of the section and say to me, “Why did you not call to tell us that she was coming back our way?” One time I simply replied, “What would it look like for me, jumping on the phone calling to alert everybody when we should always be working as unto the Lord daily anyway. My response was based on Colossians 3:22 where the word of God states; “Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God.” Unfortunately, hearing the truth of God that day did hurt the feelings of my former co-worker even though I spoke it in a gentle manner. A good question to have posed on that day would be, “Should the Director of the department I worked for have asked for permission prior to visiting our section or should she have free course because she is of course the Director? Before you answer the question, let’s take it a step further.

Now imagine God and the fullness of His glory entering your home without a moment’s notice. Would you be prepared to receive His presence or would you have to shuffle things around pretending like you have been busy doing the work of the Kingdom? Following His departure would you then proceed to call your neighbors asking “Why did you not call and tell me that God was coming to our neighborhood today?” Same scenario as the first but different on so many levels because God of course is the Sovereign and Holy God and He is much more worthy of the honor and the glory. Although some may think this would be an interesting situation to find oneself in, it can very well begin to happen especially if we as the people of God continue to treat the presence of the Father as something common.

Each day as God allow for us to get up from our bed; it is then that we can make the conscience decision to serve Him and reverence Him as the Sovereign God that He is. Also as we begin to walk in the fear of the Lord on a daily basis we are ensuring that we are taking advantage of the opportunity to get to know the Father in a personal and intimate way. The word of God states in Proverbs 9:10 that the “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One understands.” These powerful words should be viewed as extremely important in the life of every Christian.  The word “Wisdom” as described in the Leadership Bible is “the ability to use the best means at the best time to accomplish the best ends. It is not merely a matter of information or knowledge, but of skillful and practical application of the truth to the ordinary facets of life.” By understanding and walking in the fear of the LORD, our obedience to God in honoring Him will help to unlock and keep open the doors to the things that are needed for us to carry out the divine will of the Father in our daily lives. Attempting to live our lives without respecting and honoring God, can only lead to the pathway of walking in the impure wisdom of the world. The wisdom of the world is definitely no match for true wisdom which can only come from relationship with the Heavenly Father.

So how can we as Christians continue to honor and reverence God His way?

1.      First, we have to search our hearts and repent for any of the times that we treated His holy presence as something common.
2.      Seek to spend more time reading and mediating upon the word of God. This will help us to know Him in a greater capacity.
3.      Taking time during the course of our day to spend quality quiet time in His presence. Doing this allows for us to know Him in a more intimate way.
4.      Opening our hearts and accepting His wisdom and instruction by making application to our daily lives.

May your life from this day forward be greatly enriched as you begin to walk in the fear of the Lord by reverencing God as the Sovereign God that He is.

Blessings,
