Breaking Free from the Spirit of Saul

Scripture

2 Samuel 31:1-6
Now the Philistines fought against Israel; the Israelites fled before them, and many fell dead on Mount Gilboa. The Philistines were in hot pursuit of Saul and his sons, and they killed his sons Jonathan, Abinadab and Malki-Shua.  The fighting grew fierce around Saul, and when the archers overtook him, they wounded him critically. Saul said to his armor-bearer, “Draw your sword and run me through, or these uncircumcised fellows will come and run me through and abuse me.” But his armor-bearer was terrified and would not do it; so Saul took his own sword and fell on it. When the armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he too fell on his sword and died with him. So Saul and his three sons and his armor-bearer and all his men died together that same day. When the Israelites along the valley and those across the Jordan saw that the Israelite army had fled and that Saul and his sons had died, they abandoned their towns and fled. And the Philistines came and occupied them. The next day, when the Philistines came to strip the dead, they found Saul and his three sons fallen on Mount Gilboa. They cut off his head and stripped off his armor, and they sent messengers throughout the land of the Philistines to proclaim the news in the temple of their idols and among their people. They put his armor in the temple of the Ashtoreths and fastened his body to the wall of Beth Shan. When the people of Jabesh Gilead heard what the Philistines had done to Saul, all their valiant men marched through the night to Beth Shan. They took down the bodies of Saul and his sons from the wall of Beth Shan and went to Jabesh, where they burned them. Then they took their bones and buried them under a tamarisk tree at Jabesh, and they fasted seven days.

Message

In this particular scripture, Saul the King of Israel is in the midst of a heated battle with his enemy. One by one those closest to him began to fall as the battle increased. Cornered by the enemy, Saul is wounded by arrows designed to take him out. Wounded, but with life still flowing in his body, Saul allowed fear to enter his heart. With his faith now being challenged; he asked his armor bearer to help end his misery. When his armor bearer refused his request, Saul decided his fate and fell on his sword and died.

While meditating upon this passage, revelation came forth which revealed that this is the same spirit which has been moving in some of the areas of leadership within the Body. In recent months there has been an increase in suicides among spiritual shepherds who seemed to have lost all hope. Many may have felt that the wounds inflicted in this season by the enemy were too deep and painful for God to heal.

While all leaders who experience pain and hardships will not seek to take their lives, the purpose of this word is not to bring condemnation; but to revive hope and to illuminate the seriousness of suicide occurring among some of our dedicated spiritual shepherds. The best defense to stopping any type of assignment which seeks to kill, steal and destroy is to gain wisdom in order to implement preventive measures. Indeed the time has come to sound the alarm so that we as a body can stand together as a united front to break and destroy the works of the enemy from off the lives of those called to lead and shepherd us the people of God.

Encouragement

Spiritual shepherds don’t allow the spirit of Saul to push you into a place of fear as if there is no hope or way of escape.  There is a way of escape through Jesus Christ. He is your key. He is your source. Allow for the Spirit of God to be your light helping you to maneuver through all of the curves in the highway stretched before you. He already knows the way because He has guided others through this way before. Come out so you can go into and experience God’s promises for your life. Go in so you can share and release the Father’s heart to the people. Go in so many can become free to truly live again through a new hope in Christ Jesus. 12-18-2013 @ 8:30 AM (CST)

Deliverance Prayer

Father we enter into your gates with thanksgiving and into your courts with praise. We set ourselves in agreement and align our heart with your divine will. We decree and declare that you dear God in all of your Sovereignty reign and rule in our lives.

We take every thought captive and command that our thoughts line up with your word and truth. We take up a hedge and stand in the gap for those called to shepherd and lead the people of God. We bind up, cut the cords and destroy the works of the spirit of Saul from taking root and loose your anointing which destroys every yoke of bondage. We bind up and reject all backlash of the enemy and stand united dressed in the full armor of God. We loose your love and send your peace forth to those who are wounded and without hope.

We thank you for dispensing a greater measure of your grace and strength to each and every leader. We thank you for increasing and strengthening their faith where it is torn and weak. We thank you for granting peace where there is confusion. We thank you for your healing flowing down into the deep, deep recesses of their battle wounds. Father, we bless you and honor you for continuing to pour out your spirit afresh upon and in the lives of your vessels. We ask that you give us your people a heart of love, patience, and gratitude for those appointed to serve as our spiritual shepherds. In Jesus name, we do pray, amen and amen.

House Cleaning Time

2 Chronicles 29: 15-16 “When they had assembled their fellow Levites and consecrated themselves, they went in to purify the temple of the Lord, as the king had ordered, following the word of the Lord. The priests went into the sanctuary of the Lord to purify it. They brought out to the courtyard of the Lord’s temple everything unclean that they found in the temple of the Lord. The Levites took it and carried it out to the Kidron Valley.”

Psalm 51:1 “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.”

Ezekiel 36:25-27 “Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

2 Corinthians 7:1 “Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.”

James 4:8 “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

I was awakened at 3:30 AM this morning and immediately began to pray in the spirit. This was not an odd occurrence because for the last couple of years until the recent changing of the guard I had been assigned to the fourth watch of the night.

As I bowed from the weight and sorrow of what was being released during this time, a clear vision began to materialize. Father began revealing in greater clarity what some already know has begun to take place within the lives of His children.  Father used one of my childhood homes in Wisconsin as an analogy. In the vision, I was shown how on Saturday mornings, my mother would gather her six children and everyone had to help clean our home from top to bottom including the basement and backyard.

Everyone had their own assignments and knew what they were to clean before we started. My daddy took the clothes to the Laundromat during the times we did not have an in home washer or dryer.  The two eldest boys had their room, the backyard and the basement. I had the kitchen, living room and entryway. My younger sister had the only bathroom and our shared bedroom. My two youngest brothers had their shared room and the family den upstairs. Everyone was expected to do a through cleaning, so we could get to what we enjoyed as a family and that was sitting down to the weekly Saturday movie matinee and some of mama’s freshly stove popped pop corn and a tumbler of Kool-Aid.

Because we did this type of cleaning once a week, it was not such a difficult task. But on occasion while cleaning depending on the season we were in we will find bugs, and other undesirables who decided to find their final resting place in or around our home. Because this was our home and what we considered a place of safety, it was our job to get rid of and dispose of those things found that did not belong. Once we finished and everything was cleaned and put away, mama would do a walk through to make sure that what we said lined up with what we were assigned to do. In the end we always knew everything went well with her inspection because she would then go into the kitchen and pull out the oil and popcorn to make huge bowls of popcorn for everyone. (End of vision)

Now that we’ve entered a brand new season, Father is yet continuing as before periodic house cleaning inspections for His children. It is our responsibility both individually and corporately to adhere to this necessary house cleaning. Not only is this of great importance but it is imperative that we embrace this process in an effort to stay in sync and in tune with the flow of the Father’s spirit.  Just as with any manufacturer, Father desires that those whom He created with His very own hands are operating and functioning in the manner for which they have been uniquely designed.

If you are not sure of where to begin or how to start, pray and ask Holy Spirit to show you the rooms in your home or areas around your property that may need some special attention. This time clean house as if your destiny depended on it, for truly my dear brothers and sisters, a time for major house cleaning is upon us.

July 16, 2012 6:00 PM (CST)

People of God, please keep your focus in the upcoming weeks like never before. The accuser of the brethren is on the prowl and he is seeking to bring an increase of slander against God's very elect. Know who God has called and purposed you to be in Him. The fruit and living waters which flows from your very belly will be evident for all to hear and see. The agents used against you will have to flee from before you seven ways, for the angel of the Lord goes before you as you obey God. Continue to daily speak the word of God over your life as well as the lives of your family.  Speak the word also over all that God has given you to be steward over. Know that new beginnings are springing up all over the land. Continue to prepare your heart and mind for an increase of the manifested glory of God. See, Know, Believe. See, Know, Believe. See, Know, and Believe. God will not fail you, God will keep you and it is He who will uphold you with His righteous right hand.  July 16, 2012  6:00 PM (CST)

Prayer

Father we thank you for your divine protection and covering over our lives. We thank you that we are victorious in you. We give you praise, honor and glory for who you are. We thank you for the blood of Jesus which will never lose it's power. We thank you that we walk in your peace, joy and love. Because it is with your perfect love that all fear of the enemy is removed from around us, in Jesus Name. Amen & Amen.

Stopping the flow of Emotional Bleeding

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthian 1:3-4

Before I could even get into worship and prayer this morning Father released a word concerning His people that it is now time to stop the flow of emotional bleeding. As I began to pray, He expressed that there are still too many wounded soldiers who are out on the battlefield leaking contaminated blood throughout the body. There are also many who have been wounded but are still operating in ministry with open wounds which have not had the opportunity and time to properly heal. Still there are many others who are yet going forth in ministry with the objects and instruments used against them in battle left hanging from their bodies. Now is the time and today is the day to step away from the battlefield to get the open wounds cleansed, tended to and bandaged properly. For those of you who happen to be one of the recently wounded, know that this is a word of love and compassion because our Heavenly Father has expressed deep concern for the total health and well being of His wounded sheep on today.

On last month I was instructed to write about emotional healing and how we as the Body of Christ should take precautions to check and work on maintaining our mental health and well being. Periodically checking to be sure that our emotions are in check and not spilling all over the place will allow for us to go further in doing the work of building up the kingdom of God. For the times when we continued in our assignments without taking the time to assess our wounds, we risked the possibility of setting up infection in our bodies as well as unknowingly infecting others. Today, if you are open to hear the Father’s heart on this matter you can begin your healing right away.

So how can we stop the flow of emotional bleeding in our lives?

1.                  When we know that we have been wounded, stop and assess the damage.
2.                  We have to be honest with ourselves that there is some bleeding.
3.                  Take time out to get proper care for the wound(s) by seeking the services of a trusted friend, counselor, mental health professional or pastor.
4.                  Allow time for God’s healing to flow. Release all guilt about taking time away so that the healing process is not hindered.
5.                  Continue to spend time communing with the Father in worship and prayer.
6.                  Spend time in the word of God to regain strength for the next assignment.
7.                  Keep our hearts and minds free from any debris or residue from prior battles.
8.                  Reach out to help our wounded brother and sisters who don’t know that they are bleeding.

Father, thank you for your concern and love for your people on today. Thank you for revealing your heart  concerning an issue that many of us may not have been aware of.  Thank you for providing your wisdom and a way of escape so we may be healed. Thank you for covering our wounds with your healing salve. Thank you Father for your love covering us as a blanket where we are safe from harm and danger. Thank you for allowing us to dwell in your secret place where we can rest under the shadow of your wings. We ask that you forgive us for infecting others unknowingly and we ask that you would send forth your healing into their lives as well.  Thank you Father for you see and you know all things and nothing is hidden from your watchful eyes. Truly you are an incredible and awesome Father who is always concerned about the health and wellbeing of your children.  We love you Dear God for all you have done for us, in the name of Jesus we pray on this day, Amen.

Blessings & Love

Mental Health Awareness Month

As the month of May comes to close, I would like to take some time to discuss your mental health status. Every year during the month of May counselors and professionals in the Mental Health community work to bring awareness to people about the importance of mental health care and the benefits of getting the proper treatment. Whether you suffered a loss materially, spiritually or physically, there’s no better time than the present to check to see that you are operating in emotional wholeness.

Just as you take time out to go for your yearly doctor and dental visits; it’s also extremely important to stay up to date on your current mental health status. The type of assistance you chose will be based upon the type of care you are seeking whether it is short or long termed. For instance if you are in need of counseling after the loss of a job or loved one, seeking out the services of a grief counselor would be of great benefit to you. If you find yourself dealing with the after effects and issues associated with substance, sexual or physical abuse, in order to achieve the optimal results it would be beneficial to seek out someone who specializes in this specific type of counseling.  Since the general area of counseling covers such a large base, choosing the right specialized help or counselor to meet your needs will take some research on your part as well as prayer.

In the faith based community finding a counselor is normally just a phone call away when you call your local church. There you will find and receive assistance from lay Pastoral counselors and staff who have experience with dealing with all types of issues on a daily basis. In many of these churches you may also find on staff Professional, Licensed and or certified counselors who are on hand to service the needs of the congregants and the general community.

So what do you need to know before going to see a counselor or mental health professional and what are some of signs you can look for?  Below are listed just a few signs which will help to give you some clarity.

v     You recently suffered a major loss or death of a cherished loved one.
v     You find yourself constantly complaining or bickering with people around you or with loved ones.
v     You become irritated with issues that normally did not bother you in the past.
v     You have frequent and unexplainable bouts of crying.
v     You have frequent and unexplainable headaches/and or migraines
v     You are experiencing stress or suffering bouts of anxiety.
v     You are experiencing bouts of sadness or seem to be unhappy most of the time.
v     You began disconnecting yourself from social activities and spending more time sleeping.
v     You suffer from frequent bouts of anger or frustration.
v     You have experienced thoughts of suicide or thoughts about physically harming yourself.
v     You have recently experienced loss of sleep, extended bouts of fatigue or tiredness.
v     You have suffered from loss of appetite and or unexplained weight loss.

Although this list is not conclusive, knowing some of the above signs will help you to take a moment to honestly assess you mental health status to see if you do need to begin the process of seeking out immediate counseling/and or a mental health professional for treatment.  In this life we all have experienced struggles and faced uncertainty, but know that you don’t have to suffer in silence or alone. The Sovereign Father has birthed forth and anointed godly counselors for use within the Body of Christ. Many of these counselors have taken the necessary steps to become professionally trained to assist you along the path of your life’s journey. Click on the information links below to see that there is help, there is hope and there is a solution readily available to assist you with what you may be facing in your life today.

The truth about "Silly Women"

2 Timothy 3:1-9 (Kings James Version)

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.”

In this particular message I will be focusing on a subject which has come up during recent times of prayer as well as in a few conversations with some of my spiritual sisters.  I first heard of  the term "Silly Women" in the early 1990’s when the women's group at a former ministry I attended did a study on how not to become a woman who is led away from God by participating in malicious and ungodly talk about others. During this time the ministry had recently severed the cords of religious tradition and had begun to open their hearts to embrace the bible and its full teaching on the operation of the Holy Spirit. My family and many of the young to middle aged men & women embraced with a hunger and thirst what the pastor had introduced to our parched spirits. Because we each had a desire for more of God, we were able to receive what was being taught in purity because our spiritual man bore witness to God’s holy truth.

Interesting to note is the fact that even with God doing such a great new thing in our midst there were some who were sitting under the same anointed word who did not want to accept the truth that was being presented. So in an attempt to stop the truth of God from flowing, a “silly woman” revolt of sorts was staged. Using their tongues as the weapon of choice, this group began to come against anyone who had accepted to walk in the truth of God’s word. In the end, God’s truth prevailed because HIS truth always trumps that which is false.

In this passage of scripture the Apostle Paul writes to Timothy describing how this would become a huge issue within the Body of Christ in the last days because men would become lovers of themselves and would not be open to being held accountable to the truth of God.  In addition we also see in this passage that many of the people who would be caught up in all of this godlessness are actually professing Christians.

The term "silly women" originates in the King James Version of the bible and is seen translated as “weak-willed” women in later translations. Being a “silly” or “weak-willed” woman is someone who will fall for anything false and accepts it as being truth. When God's truth is made available many will resist truth because it causes people to not only hear and accept truth but it also provokes them to become accountable as well. When accountability to truth is activated in the person accepting the responsibility, they are freed from the bondage associated with doing things outside the established truth of God.

When hearing truth, what is your normal response? Do you accept or reject it based on how you are feeling or what you have previously heard?  Or do you take some time to analyze it before you can truly walk in it? No matter what your response may be in the end when your ears first hear truth, the spirit of God down on the inside of you will help to bear witness with the truth being presented. Additionally, a life of prayer, consistent study and meditation of the word of God also serves as a litmus test for you when God’s truth is first presented.

This is the season of truth as it has already been made known by many appointed men and women of God. Truth must be revealed so we as the Body of Christ can live and operate as true representatives of God in the earth. Truth must be revealed so the established plans and purposes of God can manifest. Truth must be revealed so that the captives of all things false can be set free from the hold of darkness. There is an old song I love from the late Rev. Timothy Wright called, “Whose on the Lord’s side.” When the truth of God is revealed in the earth the best place to be is always on the side of the Lord.
